Take time when you are considering an infertility counselor. You want to make sure that the therapist is one that fits you. Once you have chosen the right person you will be amazed how much you can learn.

How to choose an infertility counselor that is right for you:

1. Make sure that they are licensed and experienced. They should have a license in the state where you are. Most insurance carriers may cover session and they will require them to have a license.

2. They will need a degree in mental health, like psychology. This field of practice they will have more experience working with individuals and people with similar problems.

3. You may need to ask your treating doctor for a referral. Most physicians have knowledge of different therapist or counselors in your area that they have worked with before.

4. Interview your counselor, make sure that you ask all the questions that you need to know to make the decision of selecting the one you want. You should be able to feel comfortable around them and be able to open up in front of them. Make sure that the counselor that you select is a good listener.

When you are going through a stressful and frustrating matter for a period of time, it can be hard. By having someone you can talk to and express your emotions can help a great deal. Counselors and/or therapist are there to help listen and help you through any ordeal that you may be going through.
