The Internet Can Make You Feel Too Connected

Don't let the Internet destroy your whole world. It is a great tool for taking care of personal matters, hooking up with friends and family and getting the latest news without running out to the nearest Kwik-E-Mart to buy a newspaper, but as long as you can find the latest news on anything you want, others can find out the latest on what is going on in your personal life. That can be dangerous.

You might be able to do all of your banking on line and take care of financial and business issues, but you also have to remember that it isn't hard for the millions of people who might have interest in your personal business and can access them relatively easy. You are always connected with the rest of the world, but they are also connected with you and you life, so watch what information you allow to go onto the Internet.

It's worse than when people just had beepers or cell phones; you are even more attached and connected than ever before. There is no place to hide. It was nice back in the old days when you could disappear for a little while and nobody could get hold of you and bother you. Now, everybody has to be connected at all times. Even while doing fun things like being at an amusement park or at a music concert, you see people constantly engaged with their cellular device, Facebooking or tweeting and not leaving it alone.

There are ways to safeguard against letting your entire life be exposed to millions of people, but you also need to know that everyone does not appreciate your right to privacy. People just having a fun night out on the town are victims to people with cell phones who immediately download the video to Facebook and YouTube and your whole world can fall apart. Keep your eye on all potential dangers.

Nobody gets embarrassed about anything anymore and you would think that shame was a word nobody had ever heard of. But even with these drawbacks, people couldn't get along without being connected sometimes. For business as well as personal reasons, the internet has helped shrink the world even smaller. Just as air travel had done decades ago. At any moment you can chat, see or play with a friend around the world without leaving the comfort of your own living room. It really is an amazing device and everybody it truly addicted to it.
