The Lugu Lake In Lijiang Of Yunnan

One factor attracts most foreign learners come to learn Chinese in China is the beautiful sceneries and landscapes in China. If you are learning in Yunnan, the Lugu Lake in Lijiang is a place you should never miss. Located at the plateau area, it is famous for the elegant scene and the clear of the lake water. Therefore, it is a perfect place to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Around the lake, the forest is densely covered and the air is so fresh. There are few inhabitants live around the place. Therefore, it is one of the places that suffered the least human destroy in China. The students who study Chinese in Yunnan may also know that the natural environment there is well-preserved.

The water in the lake is so clear that you can see all kinds of fishes in the deep place. The scenery around is picturesque. In the lake, there are five islands, three peninsula, a seawall island, seventeen beaches and fourteen bays. If you have the chance to visit there when you learn Mandarin in Yunnan, you can take the local dugout canoe to the island.

The people live there is Mosuo people and the dugout canoe made by the local people is called the “pig’s trough canoe” because of the shape. Some foreign learners may have heard about the most three beautiful things on the lake when they study in China. They are the beautiful Mosuo lady on the canoe, the elegant canoe and the pleasant fisherman’s songs.

The legend about the origin of the name “Lugu Lake” is a point that those who study in Mandarin language courses in China should know. Gemu Goddess was once a wise and beautiful lady who had her own private life. She was not only in love with the God of the Mountain “Axia”, but also contact with the Gods far away.

One day, one of the Gods turned his horse rapidly and the horse screaming and she heard it. When she arrived there, she saw only a mark of horse’s hoof. Then she cried so emotionally that the tear filled the hoof. Then it became the Lugu Lake we see today. Students who learn Chinese should know the Mountain God scattered some pearls and flower seeds and they became the islands.

The scenery of Lugu Lake is so beautiful that many people are enchanted. Besides the crystal-clear water, you can also see some azalea flowers of various types.
