The Map And Development Of Conciousness Part 3

To get to a point in your life where you are able to develop and grow in a way that is productive
for what you want to accomplish is very rewarding. It is smart to bring those things into your life
that serve you and to rid yourself of the rest. Regardless of the struggle and energy necessary
to get to a certain point of conciousness, the journey is well worth it. It is better to live a few weeks
in dismay due to the process of moving to the next level of conciousness than it is to live
ones whole life in a state of negative emotion. To help with this, we will be discussing the
first three lower levels of the map of conciousness and how to transcend them.

The first on the list is shame. Shame is sense of feeling inadequate. At this level, one constantly
feels a sense of not being good enough. Even small remarks ment in jest are taken personal and
create a sense of feeling humiliated. Most of us have met at least one person in our lives who is
this way. They are constantly miserable about almost everything. This is the lowest on the level
of conciousness. This stems from a poor self-perception stemming from poor self-esteem and confidence.

The second on the list is guilt. At this level, one begins to recognize their actions as good or bad.
This is where the guilt stems from. Though the blame is often passed off to other people for why
one is this way or why they did what they did, the voice inside all of us calls out to be heard. This
also stems from a poor self-perception. Once one develops better confidence and self-esteem, the
need to pass the blame disappears. The ability to take responsibility for our actions is necessary to
change them.

The third on the list is apathy. A feeling of hopelessness over rides here. Despair for the way
things are and the inability to see anything better is a normal state. Often times, hopelessness
takes over and people at this level slip into depression very easily. It's no wonder that sadness
is normal at this state when there is no way of seeing anything better. It's as though standing
behind a wall where happiness and joy are just on the other side completely out of site. To deal
with these emotions, peopl here often become apathetic to the world at large. They rationalize that
if they cut off their emotions, then everything will be ok. If they simply do not care, then they cannot
be effected by what happens.

The way to transcend these levels of conciousness is to begin to change ones opinion of oneself.
The realization that life is what we make it can also be a very valuable tool, though often times, people
at these lower levels of conciousness are unable to belief such a statement. They believe that life
happens to them, not that they make life happen. Creating lists of all of your positive traits on a
regular basis is another good step toward transcending these lower levels. The more one loves
oneself, the more one is able to go out and face the world and take it on one day at a time.

The next step would be to interact with the world around us. After one has developed a good
self-opinion and realizes that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, they are able to face the world
in a whole new way. This is also the beginning of developing courage, the first of the positive
levels of conciousness. These lower levels are difficult to transcend without some level of courage.
One must be willing and able to face themselves and all their negativity in order to move to the next
level. Without this ability, they are doomed to stay where they are never having the opportunity
to realize the true joy and happiness of living.

In the next part of this series, we will be discussing the conciousness levels of grief and fear as
well as how to transcend them. The higher up the scale we go, the closer to all encompassing
action we get. All encompassing action is the ablity to recongnize what needs to be done,
the correct course of action to take to get it done, the driving fire inside ourselves to do it,
and actually taking the action to get there.
