The Monkeys Just Want To Be Happy, You Are Nevertheless The Same

There is a forest behind my home. Few months ago, a group of monkeys have ventured out of the forest and run wild. Those nasty monkeys overturn all the trash bins in my area and tore up the garbage - they are looking for food if any.

Those monkeys have really made the neighborhood mad. The neighbor next to me would scream whenever the troop starts their operation. I must admit that I was angry too. They messed up my place and gave me extra work to do.

However, two days ago, I used a different approach to deal with them. I picked out some fruits from my fridge and offered them to the monkeys. Seeing fruits in my hand, those monkeys started to approach me. They were really cautious; they stopped at a certain distance from me, fearing that I might harm them. For that, I threw the fruit one by one so that each of them could have one in their hands.

Guess what?

They were happy. I saw five happy and smiling faces, they’ve started to radiate joyous energy and I could feel it. I even noticed that one of them bowed to me as a way of thanking me.

Just a simple act and I’ve made six of us happy. Of course, I was one of them.

Human is nevertheless wanted to be happy. Everything that we do and reaching for is to be happy.

You want to make millions, buy a big house, and drive a big nice car. For what?

Again, you just simply want to be happy. You can even make your families and friends happy by buying them gifts and showering your love.

However, these are the limitations that we usually put on ourselves before we could be happy. By failing to fulfill just any one of the specific goals above will prevent us from being happy.

Isn’t that absurd?

You and me do not need anything to be happy. You can be happy even there’s only a penny in your pocket.

You can be happy right now! Put up a smiling face and start pretending to be happy. And I bet that for less than a minute, you’ll be happy.

Why limit yourself?

“Your ultimate goal is to be happy.” -Anthony Robbins

Back to the monkeys. It’s really easy for them to be happy. They are only limited by their basic needs before reaching happy state. Once they have something to eat, something to feed their stomachs, they’ll be happy.

Lastly, our ultimate goal is to be happy. Once we’re happy or first being happy, our ultimate goal is reached. And this positive energy will attract to us what we are looking for. By the way, this is just another version of the BE-DO-HAVE model, but the ULTIMATE one.

Thanks and be happy.
