The Morning Banana Diet – Is This The Easiest Diet Ever?

Haven’t heard of the morning banana diet yet?

Don’t worry it won’t be long before you do, especially if its anything like the storm its kicked up in Japan where the Morning Banana Diet has led to a massive shortage of bananas in the country (25% increase in the amount of banana sold there compared to last year).

But what is “The Morning Banana Diet” and does it work?

To follow the diet, dieters have to eat a banana for breakfast with a glass of water at room temperature, after that you’re free to eat whatever you choose as long you stay away from candy.

There are 4 more rules that also need to be followed and they are

1. Stay off alcohol

2 No eating after 8pm

3 Going to bed before 12pm

4 No desserts with meals (just 1 sweet snack in the mid afternoon)

Another plus in the diets favor is that people on the diet only have to exercise if they want to and only in a “less” stressful way.

The diet was created by Sumiko Watanabe for her husband, who had trouble losing weight. After going on the diet Mr Watanabe became a lean 59 kilos. Also the Japanese opera singer Kumiko Mori attributed a sudden seven-kilo weight loss to using the diet.

So, why does the diet work?

Although there are people both for and against the diet, the thoughts behind the success of the diet is that the fiber in bananas gives a satisfied feeling plus its supposed to help with the bodies fat burning capacity.

Final thoughts,

Whether the Morning Banana Diet could be a success for you is for you to decide. But if you were to keep to the rules, like no late eating, etc, you may also see some good results.

But, I suppose anything that gets more people to increase their daily fruit uptake can’t really be a bad thing…..unless you live in Japan that is :)
