Rare will be the moving company that won't put jewelry, expensive collectibles, and photo albums on the truck, but you may want to consider whether you want them to or not. It's one thing if your oven mitts get lost in the move; quite another if your wedding photographs do. No matter how well recommended the business comes, you have to take trust into consideration. It only takes one unscrupulous worker to palm something small and valuable. This isn't something you should worry about endlessly, but it does call for taking some common sense steps towards prevention. Keep your small expensive items with you and save yourself the burden.
