The Plug-in Profit site is how I got started online way back in 2004. At that time I was brand an internet marketing novice and didn't really have a clue what I was doing. I was what you would call a "newbie", just looking for a way to start an online business without the slightest idea of how easy or how difficult it would be. In summary the Plug-In Profit Site is a home based business opportunities website created by Stone Evans, promoting six different home business programs. At the time of writing these are SFI, Empowerism, Traffic Swarm, Success University, Maximum Paid Surveys and Host4Profit. The site is free as long as you host on Host4Profit and you can choose whether to join all six programs or just a subset of them. Some of the programs are free and others charge a fee. When you sign up for a Plug-In Profit site you receive a fully functional website, a 400 day email sequence to follow up to your visitors, plus access to training, a support forum and a helpdesk.
Advantages
- Residual Income - all the opportunities promoted on the Plug-In Profit Site pay residual income which means that by making one sale you will receive commissions every month. An example of this is Host4Profit hosting, which pays $10 commission per month for every customer you sign up, for as long as that customer remains with Host4Profit.
- Website up and Running within 24hrs - as long as you submit all your information correctly you will receive your website within 24hrs or less. Normally when you build a website there is a long period of research and it takes a lot of time and effort or money to built the site. With the Plug-In Profit Site you don't have to wait - you can start marketing your website immediately
- Customizable Site - as long as you know some HTML or are able to use a free web page editor you can make changes to your website. This could include adding or removing programs, adding introductory text or photo or adding some new web pages. Alternatively there are affordable services available from various people to enhance your website e.g. by changing the color, adding new products or optimizing it for the search engines.
- Top Notch Support - As well as a 30 day training guide which explains how to market your website there is also a great support forum and a dedicated helpdesk. If it is one on one mentoring you are after then the PIPS Power Group can provide online coaching at an affordable price.
Disadvantages
- Many of the programs within the Plug-In profit Site are MLMs (Multi Level Marketing Programs) which means that you will earn a proportion of the commissions for every person that signs up under you. I personally don't see this as a disadvantage but many people are against MLMs so I have included this here.
- Not a get rich quick scheme. Unless you are an extablished marketer with a high traffic website or a list, you are unlikely to make money immediately. There is a learning curve and you will have to work at marketing your website
- Some Technical Knowledge Required to Change your website - although your website is fully customizable you do need to either learn a bit of HTML OR use a web page editor to make changes to your website. Alternatively there are reasonably priced services to do this, but if you are unwilling to do either of these it will be difficult to be successful with a cookie cutter site.
- There is a monthly cost - although the site will be built for you for free, the minimum running cost at this time is $15 a year plus $24.95 per month for hosting. If money is tight or you are struggling to get by then this is not for you.
Hopefully this review will help you see more clearly what the pros and cons of the Plug-In Profit Site are so that you can make an informed choice.. As with all businesses you need to be motivated and persistent to be successful.
