The Precious Gem Of Patience
After an uncomfortable period of time in this zone of frustration, we usually wake up to the fact that we could be having a radically different experience if we would just practice more patience. Maybe we receive this reminder from a loved one who is witnessing our journey. But then what? Where do we go from there? We might find ourselves thinking, "Easier said than done." Nevertheless, we do our best to shift. From this place of trying, it can then be easy to fall into the trap of TOLERATING the truth...the truth that manifesting our dreams is, indeed, a process, not an event. And when we take the stance of toleration, we invite a heavy, draining, passive energy into our space. Needless to say, this does not make for a pleasant ride and it certainly does not serve our dream. Given the above, I am a huge fan of choosing a more enlivening perspective around being patient with the unfolding of our visions. Instead of just giving lip service to respecting the reality of the creative process and to the value of patience, I am suggesting that we deeply appreciate and celebrate the goodness of our journeys as they unfold. I am talking about embodying patience in the most empowering and liberating sense, embracing it with bold enthusiasm. Instead of "I have to be patient," we shift to "I am blessed with the opportunity to be patient." We make it a top priority to truly honor the gifts that we receive precisely BECAUSE our dreams take time to unfold. Personally, I find that being patient in this spirit can be both intensely challenging and a breeze. While sometimes I fail miserably and am quite pitiful with patience, I also have days where I am tickled pink to have the privilege of patiently experiencing my journey. So what do I notice about the days of ease and flow with radiating patience? How can we tap into genuine appreciation and gratitude for the unfolding of our dreams? Take a peek at my favorite catalysts for being powerfully patient and enjoying the ride. ~ The gigantic relief of being reminded that since our dreams do unfold, we have time to grow into them. Your dream is not going to happen all at once, which means you don't need to have it all figured out at once. Thank goodness! Have you ever had the experience of getting in touch with a dream only to then find yourself immediately feeling shut down because you were intimidated by all that it seemed to require? Dreams can absolutely feel daunting if we get caught up in the "How" and we start worrying about what we need to do. This is the beauty of your dream taking time. You only need to focus on taking the step that is right in front of you. And as you take each step and integrate the learning and experience, you BEOME who you need to be to take the next step...and so on. It is a matter of easing into it, and the journey allows for that in the most exquisite way. ~ Ultimate opportunity to fully savor the spectacular process of co-creation. With your dream coming to life in stages, you have the perfect container for the Universe to work its magic and for you to enjoy the mystery. Remember that you are in a divine partnership with Source, and as your journey continues, there is abundant space for the most supreme opportunities, resources and support to be revealed. So I encourage you to relish the road ahead for all the delightful surprises that it holds for you. Eagerly anticipate the juiciness that is coming with each new turn, each new leg of the trip. And most importantly, be wide open to the fact that support may arrive in the most unexpected packaging, creating something far more dazzling than you could ever imagine "on your own." It is totally worth the wait! ~ Delicious recipe for helping us to internalize the value and power of "baby steps." Tiny steps are a monumental part of experiencing massive growth and ultimately manifesting your big vision. And most of us have the tendency to gloss over the small action steps we take, completely minimizing their importance and impact. The truth is we don't get to where we want to go without them. So having the time to notice and fully acknowledge each step you take and the role it plays in the big picture coming together is actually quite a treat. And the more you honor and celebrate your process, the more momentum you build, the more joy you experience and the more grounded you are in knowing what it really takes for sustainable success. ~ Time to recommit to our dream, over and over again. In the process of gradually building your dream, you will be gifted with opportunities to face your fears, manage your inner critic and move beyond your stuck points. And yes, I said gifted. Because each and every time you show up for the challenge of looking at what is trying to hold you back, you have the opportunity to grow through the experience. You can recommit to your dream and reinforce your foundation. As a result of this practice, you gain a much deeper sense of who you really are, how much you cherish your dream and what is actually possible. You become fiercely convicted and devoted, truly unstoppable. And this emotional connection to your vision propels you forward with absolutely astonishing power. As a final thought, I would like to offer the following quote by Omar Khayyam that I hope will further ignite your desire to be fully present for each moment of your unfolding. He so wisely declared, "Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life."
