The Proper Way To Wash Your Hair

Everyone would say that washing the hair is not such a hard thing to do. But not so many people wonder if they do it correctly. In order for this process to be done properly, it is necessary for us to follow certain steps which are more demanding than just wetting the hair, applying some shampoo and rinsing it. Only if we accurately take care of our locks we could enjoy a fabulous and healthy hair.

The first thing that is recommended to do before the washing procedure is to comb the hair. Taking into consideration that it will become very fragile once it gets wet, we should make sure no tangles are left behind. Not to mention the fact that our hair also gets tangled up when we apply the shampoo and when we massage our scalp. The next step after combing the hair is to wet it. At this point, the most important thing is to do it by using warm water and to avoid as much as possible the contact between our locks and water that is too hot or too cold.

Only after we are certain that all our hair is wet, we can apply the shampoo. Many people commit a huge mistake when it comes to the quantity of shampoo that they use. Some of them apply a greater amount than it is necessary, while others use too little. A dollop of shampoo is enough as long as we put it in the palms of our hands and rub them a little bit before we put it on our locks. Then, we should start massaging the hair gently for several seconds. In order to clean the hair completely, another dollop of shampoo is required. This second application helps our scalp to be cleaned as well.

Do not forget that after each shampooing, the hair must be rinsed in an appropriate way so that no dirt or foam to remain hidden in our locks. Also, it is indicated to massage both the hair and the scalp when we apply the shampoo in order to stimulate the blood circulation at this level of our body. This way the hair will grow healthier and stronger.

The hair should be rinsed only with cold water for the cuticles to close and to enable a further moisturizing given by the use of a conditioner which should be applied avoiding the scalp area. This is a zone where the sebum appears, this being better than any other type of hair moisture. When the washing process is over, try not to dry your hair by rubbing it with the towel or by using a hair dryer.
