The Purpose Of Ip Hiders And Proxies

We all know that the Internet is a great thing. We can find anything that we are looking for online, from merchandise to software. We can use the Internet to reach out to people all over the world through chat rooms and instant messaging. There are so many helpful uses for the Internet.

While you may have a screen name that other people know you as, the Internet world has its own identification for you: your IP address. An IP address is the identification code that you are assigned by your Internet provider. Every time that you go online, your IP address is sent to various places, but mostly to the servers that maintain the websites that you visit.

There are many situations that your IP address needs to be hidden. If you broadcast your IP address, people can get information about you. Privacy is a major factor. We all know that it is crucial to have an anti-virus software and a bot detection program, but it is also necessary to have the ability to block your IP address. This is where IP hiders and proxies come in to play.

An IP hider has the sole purpose of hiding your IP address. You can visit websites and gather the information that you are looking for without sacrificing your privacy. An IP hider basically makes you a ghost on the Internet. Since you can never truly be sure that a website is legitimate, an IP hider is a good thing to have.

Proxies are another way to mask your IP address. Proxies are like an assigned IP address. In comparison to an IP hider, the proxy shows the IP address of the proxy that you are assigned instead of your IP address. There are different kinds of proxy servers that range in price from completely free to mildly expensive. The proxy serves the same protective purpose as an IP hider.

Most people who assume that the only reason that anyone would choose to hide the IP address or use a proxy would be for illegal intentions, such as pirating movies. This is not always true. There are many legitimate businesses that require the use of these services because of the nature of the information that needs to be protected. There are doctor's offices, schools, and governmental agencies that need to keep information confidential, and one of the main ways that they do this is through an IP hider or a proxy server.

When you have delicate information on your computer that needs to be protected, anti-virus and bot detector programs aren't always the safest means to keep this information private. There are always new bots and viruses that are created that some software programs do not even know exist yet. It is only until there is an issue that these malicious things are discovered. If you desire to keep your identity and information your own, you might want to consider these two options.
