The Real Truth Behind The Multi Level Marketing Scams

This article is more for beginners who want to start a multi level business for a income. I have just finished watching Chris Malta's video on multi level marketing scams on You Tube. This, as far as I am concerned is a very biased opinion. He talks about how only people at the top get rich and how the people at the bottom do not. Well I can take you to a lot of multi level marketing groups and show you some that do work. This is like saying all used car dealers are scams because Fred got scammed at Joe's used car lot.

Lets analyse multi level marketing first. It starts from the top and works its way down in the shape of a pyramid. So how do you know if its legal or not? Lets look at the definition of illegal pyramid schemes.

The definition defines an illegal pyramid scheme as: A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, without any product or service being delivered. Pyramid schemes are a form of fraud

So if we look at multi level marketing, which is supplying a product or service, then this is a pyramid scheme but not an illegal one. Now there are some unscrupulous multi level marketing schemes but there are also a lot of honest ones, like any business in life. Now lets compare this to any large business. You get the owner at the top or share holders, then the managers or CEO, then the directors, managerial assistants and then the workers on the floor. What does this form? A pyramid scheme. Your purpose is to make the owner or share holders rich.

Now lets compare the two schemes.

The perks for working in the large business.

1) You get a monthly cheque and assistance with your retirement and medical aid in some companies. (Most people struggle to live on their pensions when they do retire.)
2) You can get promotion.
3) You get annual leave.
4) You get annual increases
5) You get performance bonuses and commission (Only in certain companies)

The disadvantages of working in a large company.

1) The people at the top earn large unjustifiable large monthly cheques.
2) Your chances of being promoted to high positions is probably nil.
3) You land up with nothing if you are unable to work any more.
4) Your increase is usually related to the cost of living
5) No matter how much effort you put in your salary will not change much.
6) They will try to squeeze more and more out of you as time goes by.
7) You cannot take extra jobs if it affects your work in any way to increase your income.
8) You can be fired for certain reasons as per labour law and company policies.
9) You are bound to their times, their rules and regulations.

The perks for doing multi level marketing with a established honest company

1) The harder you work the more you earn. There is no ceiling limit.
2) You can earn more than some people above you.
3) You still have an income if you are unable to work as your income comes from you down lines.
4) You can join as many multi level marketing companies as you want to for security.
5) You are under no pressure. You are your own boss and your time is your own.
6) The chances of being dismissed is only possible if you work against the rules and policy of your multilevel marketing scheme. You cannot be dismissed for sleeping on the job, Not working etcetera.
7) You are able to be financially free in a much shorter period with a trustworthy multilevel marketing company. Some people are living off their income in less than 2 years.

The disadvantages of working for a multilevel marketing company.

1) You have to learn a whole new ball game in order to market your goods or service. It requires dedication, patience and change of mindset.
2) It can take a while before your business starts to take off, and a few years before you are able to live off your income
3) There is a lot of competition out there! However there are always new customers with money joining the internet.
4) You have to look after your own retirement requirements and medical.

The choice is yours. You can either work for a corporate pyramid scheme or a multilevel pyramid scheme. If multilevel marketing was scamming people, it would have been stopped long ago like the illegal pyramid scheme. They have been around for more than 40 years and will continue to do so. You could find them in magazines long before the internet. The one big advantage of the multi level marketing scheme is that you can start it while you are working and see if this is for you or not for you! Just one word of advice though. Before joining any company, ensure that its been around at least 2 years. For any multi level marketing group to be successful they have to be visible. If you want to find out more of the company, just Google the name of the multi level marketing company and the owners name and you will find all the info you need, especially if they have been scamming people.
