The Right Approach To Mold Inspections
Different firms do things differently, but when it comes to mold inspections there really is only one right way to get the job done. We hear a lot concerning our competitors, and what type of mold testing they do. There is a marked difference between how we do a mold inspection and how other companies might do an inspection. We always do a combination of a thorough visual inspection, thermal imaging, moisture readings and air samples to give our clients the most accurate picture possible. As far as we are concerned, the right approach obviously involves taking adequate air samples to be able to give the right recommendations that are available. We know that some companies do not do any air samples, so they are missing a key component of the testing program. With us, you are always assured of complete testing and an unbiased assessment, as our practice is limited to testing and consulting, never remediation. In addition, to ensure reliable results, we send all samples to laboratories accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association. At RTK Environmental Group, no job is ever too big or too small. We do mold inspections in Boston, New York, Stamford and all of the nearby areas. Some of the main factors in our approach include: 1. To discover where and why excess moisture is entering your property. 2. To conduct air monitoring, surface sampling, and bulk sampling to compare the results with normal background mold levels. 3. To have personnel who are qualified to read the air samples. Our RTK inspectors are certified microbial investigators, which means that they are completely board-certified (this is the only board certification in the country). 4. To have on board inspectors who fully understand the sample results and what they mean, by not only the level of mold spores, but also by how they relate to an outdoor baseline sample. We always take the samples outside, as mold is naturally occurring in the environment; then we compare the indoor samples to the baseline exterior sample. 5. To have on board inspectors who are qualified to analyze not only the variability of total mold spores, but to know what specific mold spores to look for and identify as well, as that may be significant. 6. To generate the most comprehensive report as possible. We pride ourselves in writing all of our reports in layman’s terms, so that anyone can understand what our analysis is and what to do in order to take care of the problem. 7. To determine if the health of your family is at risk and if professional remediation is necessary. 8. To recommend safe and cost effective ways to eliminate the moisture and resolve the mold problem. As one of the most trusted environmental testing firms in the northeastern United States, our main goal is to help our clients to fully understand their mold problems, from beginning to end.
