How Is This Model Different Than Other Models? One of the key differences of the 1700 is its large screen display. With a 7 inch screen you have a lot of map area that show the roads and streets and the map symbols are all very clear. Using the 1700 on battery only will give you about 15 to 30 minutes of on time as is the case with most of the other GPS manufacturers which isn't a whole lot of time.
