The Seasons - Autumn

There is a definite change in the air, the leaves are beginning to turn a plethora of reds, oranges, yellows and golds you may feel a nip in the air when you leave your house in the morning; love it or not autumn is definitely on it’s way. Whether you love it or hate it autumn is often hoped to be one of the most settled and enjoyable seasons; just a slight chill in the air, the beautiful patchwork quilt effect of some of the trees leaves changing and the chance to get out your warm clothes and snuggle up in front of the fire watching all of the televisions shows that begin around this time of year. You know, Strictly Come Dancing and the X Factor everyone at some point has because engrossed in the trials and tribulations of a vocally talented teenager from Leicester or a rather nimble and rhythmically enabled celebrity.

At this moment in time put out of your minds and forget about the horrendous forecasts of snow and blizzard like conditions that have been predicted in the media to hit the United Kingdom and try again to hide us under a thick blanket of white, troublesome snow come this October. Which scarily enough when you think about it is less than a fortnight away! It sound like such a cliché and indeed it is something that seems to creep upon one as they get older but really, where has this year gone? Oh, and we may as well add it in doesn’t time fly as you get older although I personally am inclined to think that it does! Lets for the mean time think more positive thoughts. As I look out of my window direct our thoughts towards blue skies just chilly enough temperatures to allow you to wear your new scarf and the miracle of leaves in gold and striking reds and oranges.

Autumn itself is not just a transitional temperate season and brings with it it’s own fun annual holidays Halloween and Guy Fawkes night although I have to admit I am not sure if this is purely a British celebration? There is much deliberation as to where these seasons begin and end of course it varies as to each country’s position within the globe and their relative closeness distance to or from the sun. of course when it comes to autumn and winter, when it’s winter here (United Kingdom) it is summer in the Southern hemisphere (Australia etc…) and vice versa.

The beauty or rather the frustration of these season and the consequent temperatures and weather is that there is not a thing we can do about it we just have to adapt to it and do our best to pick out our favourite aspects of each season.

So enjoy it, enjoy cosy nights it and let your winter wardrobe get an airing, get out in the fresh air and admire the transition of the flowers, trees and landscape.
