I firmly believe that one of the most important things for a webmaster to concentrate on, is building up the number of backward linkings pointing to their site. There are a number of ways of doing this. It has to be said that there is no quick fix here but that hard work does pay off.
Some people do make the error of looking for this quick fix. They attempt this by purchasing a few backward links on pages of a pr6 or pr7 value. This may work in the short term but they are likely to soon get found out. A site which has only twenty backward links which include, four pr2 links, five pr3 links, five pr4 links, two pr5 links, two pr6 links and two pr7 links does not look right. In reality it should have a lot of pr2, pr3 and pr4 links, quite a few pr5 and a small number of the very high value links. This can only be achieved through hard work, dedication and determination.
To obtain these lower value backward links I would advise people to start writing articles. Article marketing is a very powerful web promotion tool which is often shunned or overlooked by people, normally by the people who are too lazy to put in the effort required.
To write an average of one article per day should not be too much to ask but despite advising this to people I meet, I am often amazed by the fact that they struggle to write one per week. If you are really serious about promoting your website then you have to be willing to put in the work.
