The Sony Kdl-40ex403 Tv - A Review
It's actually considered "entry level" by most TV experts, though Sony has obviously taken care to fill it full of a number of quality features at a decent price. In truth, a Sony Bravia television has always been more of a step up over so-called bargain-priced LCD TVs. And even though many retailers are offering the television for a price of about 675 British pounds, VAT included, the TV offers a number of features that are usually on found in models priced higher. It's a true high definition television, by the way, and it displays its images at a full 1080p. As well, it's also able to display images down to the old-style standard definition CRT TVs of yesteryear. As evidence of the upgraded nature of this particular Sony KDL-40EX403 TV, consider that Sony has also included its new Freeview HD satellite channel tuning filter. Previous models included Freeview, but not in high definition, it has to be said. With this new model, the Sony KDL-40EX403 TV can access -- when hooked to a satellite dish -- a wide variety of UK-specific satellite channels. In past versions, the channels weren't able to be viewed in high definition. Now they can be. The Bravia lineup of TVs has also been known for the quality of their motion control engines, and that's just as true in this TV. Sony includes its proprietary Bravia Engine 3, which is extremely capable and well working under almost every condition. Called a Bravia Engine 3, it's an extremely capable processor, and one which helps to take extreme movement and fast-paced action and smooth it out so that the display will look extremely sharp and free of smearing under almost all circumstances. With a screen size of 40 inches, this particular Sony KDL-40EX403 can do double-duty, serving as either the primary television for a small-to-medium-sized household or a very nice second television for use in a bedroom or den or study and the like. It comes to its new owner wrapped in a very attractive piano black casing, by the way. Sony always includes many different input and output ports on all of its Bravia televisions, and this new Sony KDL-40EX403 keeps this tradition going. There are four HDMI input ports as well as many other different kinds which can make connecting any sort of electronic component to the TV very easy. It's also sleek in appearance, measuring only 33.3 mm in thickness. This is exceptional for an LCD TV, by the way. When it comes to the picture and sound, Sony has taking care to improve both by including its 24P True Cinema technology, which helps to bolster the quality of its 3-D surround sound system (known as S-Force). Even if it's not going to be hooked up to a home theater system, there'll be little to complain about from its sound output. The Sony KDL-40EX403 is one of the nicer Bravia televisions offered by the Japanese consumer electronics maker. It's also currently being sold for about 675 British pounds, and it's on the market ready to offer a great many different Bravia-specific performance characteristics to its fans.
