The Strokes Discography

The Strokes is an alternative rock band that was founded in 1999. The band is made up of Julian Casablancas as lead singer, Nick Valensi is on lead guitar, Albert Hammond Jr. plays rhythm guitar, Nikolai Fraiture plays the bass and Fabrizio Moretti is the drummer. The Strokes new album is about to be released. The album called Angles, which will be out March of 2011. Lets take a look back at The Strokes CD that have already been released.

The Strokes first CD came out in 2001 and was titled "Is This It". The album was fairly popular going gold in the US and platinum is the UK. The album featured three singles: "Hard to Explain", "Last Night", and "Someday. The album featured 11 songs in total. The US version does differ from the original album in that "When it Started" replaced the song "New York City Cops". The reason behind this was that with the recent attacks on September 11th The Stokes felt the song was inappropriate to release after they had new found respect for New York City's police department. The album is widely considered the best The Strokes album and has recived high praise from many industry magazines.

The next The Strokes CD to come out was called "Room on Fire". The album was released in October of 2003. The album went gold in the US and Platinum in the UK. Three singles that came from the album were: "12:51", "Reptilia", and ""The End Has No End". The album featured 11 songs in total. The album debuted at number 2 on the UK charts and number 4 on the US charts.

The next The Strokes CD to comes out was called "First Impressions of Earth". The album was released in January of 2006. It debuted at number 1 on the UK charts and made it to #4 on the US charts. Despite such strong initial sales the album only went gold in the UK and did not make it to gold status in the US. The album featured three singles which were" "Juicebox", "Heart in a Cage", and "You Only Live Once". Though the album was viewed as a disappointing in the area of sales the single "JuiceBox" is The Strokes most popular single to date.

The Strokes new album "Angles" will feature 10 songs including 2 to be released as singles. The first single to debut was "Under the Cover of Darkness". The second single " You're so Right" came out several weeks later. The album is set to be released March 21, 2011 in the UK and March 22, 2011 in the USA.
