The Time For Change - Has It Come?

Well it's been about a month since Barack Obama was installed into office on a wave of hope and optimism for the future. It seems a pity that such a charismatic and inspiring politician has come to power to have to play catch up almost straight away. President Obama's first tasks in office have been to fire-fight problems already in existence including probably the biggest financial crisis since the 1920's.

What now for each of us though? It was pretty easy to get caught up in the feel good factor of that landmark election no matter where you were in the world, so is it enough for us now sit back and just wait for the good times to roll? Unfortunately, no matter how talented the men in office are, I doubt it. This made me wonder, if so many people voted for change and wanted change, why don't more people (including myself) start with changing their own lives?

In search of some inspiration to enact a positive change I looked into several ideas (life coaching, exercise regimes, new diets etc.) until I finally thought about the one thing I would definitely like to change....I'd like more money! After a bit of digging and sifting through all the 'Get Rich Quick' schemes available, I discovered that there are actually people out there who can teach you how to be successful and wealthy! Lloyd Davis is one such individual.

Lloyd has his own 'rags to riches' tale when I finally catch up with him on the telephone. Despite only a few years ago being homeless, he went on to start a string of businesses and amass his personal fortune. "Looking back I think it's fair to say there were some tough times. I had absolutely nothing....no home, no car, no job, no money and, I thought at the time, no prospects! How wrong I was." So just how does somebody go from nothing to successful international businessman? "It isn't easy. It all started when I read a book in the library on how to get rich. I then read another and another and another. Within weeks, implementing the things I was reading about, with trial and error things started to change and happen for me."

Following his own personal success, Lloyd is now taking his experiences and formula for success around the world on his 'Make A Million Workshops' tour. "I see so many people struggling to get through life when they don't have to. Anybody can be a success, it's something that you can learn but few people bother to either learn or teach it. Everybody who attends one of my workshops should leave armed with the knowledge they need to go on and get what they deserve from life."

The workshops kick off in Toronto this August and continue to Dallas, Las Vegas, Auckland, Sydney, Sydney, Singapore, Delhi, Mumbai, Johannesburg and Lagos. Tickets are limited at each venue and are available through Eventbrite

So once more, is casting a vote enough to expect our lives to improve? Maybe we should vote with our feet and make the change for ourselves and not wait for the 'powers that be' do it for us.
