acne is basically a disease of the skin. Acne is usually associated with pimples which are otherwise known as zits. The pimples usually occur on the face, the shoulders, the chest of the person and also the back. The pimples occur mainly due to the reason that the oil which is present inside the body clogs the skin. Another reason for the occurrence of the pimples are the dead cells of the skins and also mainly due to the bacteria.
Acne is prevalent among several people in the world. Acne vulgaris is the term that is used by doctors to address the acne problem. This is one of the most common disease that one faces during their teenage years. The United States is one of the places where acne is mostly present with seventeen million people affected every year. Mainly people who are in the age of twelve to the mid twenties are affected by acne. Under the surface of the skin, the oil producing glands are present. They secrete oil to ensure the hair flexibility and also the skin moisture. Some times excess amount of oil is produced by the gland. This excess amount of oil blocks the pores and prevents the flexibility of the skin. When this happens, the cells stick to one another and some of these cells become dead to create a plug which is known as the comedones. This follicle bulges and it creates a bulge which is formed underneath the skin. This small bulge is called as the white head. When the comedones open up, the plug darkens in the outer part of the skin and it is usually known as blackheads.
The acne is thus a very serious skin problem which needed to be treated properly. If not taken care of, then the condition of the acne may worsen.
