The Way Hinduism Originated And Lessons Of Hinduism
But the historians think that the religion is not older than 5000 years. This hypothesis states that the ancient practitioners of this religion had settlements along the banks of the Indus River region. In those times, Indus river was known as Sindhu. After the migration of Persians to the river banks, they started calling it Hindu and that is the source of the name of the religion. People who practiced this religion started being called as Hindus and the name of the religion became Hinduism. This discourse is known as Aryan Theory in popular parlance. Another discourse on history of Hinduism argues that this religion would have began close to 2000 BC. It was established by the Aryans that conquered the banks of the Indus River as well as the Indus Valley. But the facts show that this hypothesis is erroneous and is regarded as completely hypothetical in nature. The progression of the religion can be divided into three phases - the ancient era which was from 6500 BC to 1000 AD, the medieval era which was from 1000 AD to 1800 AD and the current span which began in 1800 AD and continues till date. Curiously, the beginning of Hindu religion has not been mentioned in any of the sacred books. Actually, many of the teachings deal with the way of living in the present times and not contemplating about the past. This religion gives significance to the right way of leading one's life and has no claims to being a religion with a beginning and an end. Though the modern world requires to comprehend the origin of Hinduism, the followers of the religion do not feel the pressure to research its history. They have faith in the philosophy of living a moral life and adhering to the teachings of Hindu religion to live their lives in a way which gives them Moksha.
