The Weasleys In Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince
Like in all the prequels, the Weasleys have proved to be the most dominating characters throughout the new edition of Harry Potter as well. Whether it is a matter of help or bravery, the author has shaped their role in these incidents commendably. Even though, almost everyone participated in the new story as major appearances, only few had a major influence on the overall concept.
Ronald Bilius Weasley, the youngest son of the family, has been the best friend of our protagonist Harry Potter from the very first edition. In the latest edition of the Half Blood Prince, his role has been differentiated to give him an almost new outlook and approach. In the sixth year at Hogwarts, Ron patches up a relationship with Lavender Brown, who is irrevocably in love with him. Nevertheless, in reality, it proves out to be an attempt to only make Hermione feel jealous, his fellow schoolmate and best friend. However, as she kisses Victor Krum, he is completely pissed off and tries to avoid her instead, and so makes up with Lavender.
However, he is poisoned by the tainted mead, which frightens Hermione who, on the thought of losing him forever, reconciles with him. This formally initiates the first romantic relationship in the whole story between two main side characters. In the latter half of the account, Harry asks him to keep an eye on Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape while he and Dumbledore go on a search for a Horcrux. He fights along with all fellow students to fight off the Death Eaters during the Battle of the Hogwarts.
After the death of Dumbledore, he vows to stay besides Harry and help him to find other Horcruxes and finish off Lord Voldemort, even if he had to leave off Hogwarts. This enhances the role of Ron Weasley and strengthens the bond of friendship between both of them. Second major influencing character of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, is Ginevra Weasley or more commonly known as Ginny Weasley. She possesses great magical abilities and versatile talents, unparallel to those of her brothers. For this, she is admitted into the “Slug Club”, made by the new Potions teacher, Professor Horace Slughorn.
Formerly being the chaser for Gryffindor Quidditch team, in this part she instead becomes the Seeker later on when Harry is bound by the detention on the day of Quidditch match. While celebrating the second match victory, Harry unintentionally kisses Ginny in front of everyone. With the permission of Ron Weasley, they both start to hangout, but after the death of Dumbledore, Harry leaves her in order to protect her from the blatant dangers from his enemies.
She accepts the decision bravely and steps out from his life without even asking any questions. She fought bravely in the Battle of Hogwarts along with other members of Dumbledore Army. All the other family members had been rather inactive until the latter “climax” part of the story.
The twins, Fred and George Weasley, older than Ron, start up their own magical trick sweets business in Diagon Alley with the name of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. Percy Weasley, older than the twins, left the family in the prequel, but comes to visit the family in this book in order to patch up their family relationships along with the new Minister of magic, Rufus Scrimgeour.
In Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Arthur Weasley is promoted to the Head of the Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects. Both of the parents fight alongside their kids in the Battle of Hogwarts to protect the school from infiltrations by the Death Eaters. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has given a boost to the special magical traits to the Weasley family who had been, by far, the most active characters of the whole Legend series.
