There are many ways to promote your site, some of them are free and some of them are not. Some are going to improve your business while some will not. This is an online business where the people who come to your blog can leave as fast as they came. However, promotion of your website or blog, done well can mean more traffic and more money.

Making promotion of your site the prime reason to have a site is a bad idea. Every person on the Internet has a point of view and you, as a website owner, needs to often takes this into consideration when you are planning on building your blog, or increasing traffic to your site. Promotion is boiled down to getting and increasing traffic. This is an exciting time, and one which can also be a challenge to the new writer.

1) Your blog is a business like anything else, and it will take time to build it: You will need to take the time to think big picture but also you will need to take time to think of the details when promoting your website or blog. One of them is how much content your have on your blog.

For example if your blog posts are about 20 words or less and you post six or seven times a day, you will find you have created the same number of words as a blog which has about 200 words in one post once a day.

It is dependent upon the choice of website or blog you have to make your site "promote-able". Where you promote is also important, as a site with current news will do better in social networking sites than elsewhere. The most important thing is to learn where to promote your site. why should you think of a business? Promotion of a site is a business.

2) A site that is not updated is a bad thing: No recent updates will make people leave, or nothing of value on your site will make traffic leave. This also effects your search engine ranking over time. Promotion of a site should come for as many different places as possible. Yet, to promote well you will need to update your work on a regular basis. Why should you update? so that your site is promoted effectively.

3) Being "seen" is key to promotion: You want traffic and you want to make more money? Your website and your blogs and everything else needs to be seen by the internet. If you do not promote you will not be seen and this is key to making money. The easiest way is by adding blog post to the social networking sites, and then building from there, to online writing sites. Never, for a moment, forget the site you are promoting and building.
