The Card Readers

The card reader is such a device which helps in communcation with several types of smart cards. One can come across different types of card readers in the market such as business card reader and magnetic card reader , punched card reader etc. These card readers are unique because of their functionings . The business card reader is such a scanning device which helps in scanning and electronically saving the business cards. The magnetic card reader helps in scanning cards which carries magnetic data strips.

Various card readers are actually electronic device which aids in reading smart cards. Several keyboards available with built-in card reader in the market. These are termed as external devices of the Pc. Even few of the laptops are avialable with built-in card readers. Few of them has flash upgradeable firmware in their card readers. In this way the card reader is able to provide integrated circuit on one's smart card through electricity. Such communication happens with the help of protocols which enables in reading and writing the address mentioned on the card.

If in case the card reader is not having standard transmission protocol and is using custom and proprietary protocol then it shows that it is carrying communication protocol designation T=14. Such card readers functions with usb devices having categorized device class 0x0B. In fact card readers don't require device drivers as it is already present in the system by defualt.
