The Last Ten Pounds!

We all know that cardio/aerobic exercise combined with proper nutrition can do wonders for weight loss. What do you do to lose that last 10 pounds?

Today most of use jog, lift weights, do aerobics classes and of course walk. We are all in hope of losing those extra ten pounds (which is the hardest to lose).

OK, you been doing everything you can and want to attack the final 10. You must hit your workouts a bit harder. You gotta work in your DIS-COMFORT zone. Yes, you read it right!

Here is the exercise to do just that...
Jump Squats and Deep Box Jumps. People at many different fitness levels can perform these two exercises. Be warned though!!!! Those of you with knee problems be careful. You may not be able to do those two exercises.

Why those two exercises?
Well, most of the other cardio exercises people do, do not involve such a wide range of motion. Your legs do not bend as much as they would with these exercises.

Execution
Jump Squats - Stand with your feet a little wider than shoulder width apart. Bend your knees to almost 90 degrees with your hands right by your hips. Now swing your hands up into the air and almost at the same time jump straight up off the ground. The LANDING IS IMPORTANT!!! When you land be sure to be springy. As soon as your feet touch you should immediately get into the squat position and then blast off again.

Deep Box Jumps - Everything is done the same as Jump Squats except for the jump into the air. You jump up onto a flat surface. The height is your choice. The higher the harder it is. You can use your steps at home. Now that you landed on your object you do not go into a squat, instead you immediately hope backwards off the box and then assume the squat position with your hands at your hips.

Do 3 sets of 15 - 20 reps.

Good luck and be careful.
