The Latest Styles In Kids Clothing For 2011

After seeing the latest trends on the catwalk this week, it seems to me that after a revival of the 60's and 70's, the 90's are making a strong comeback. Many of the designs seen were very similar to what I was wearing 20 years ago including the bright colours and thinner materials.

I don't think it's a problem for me personally, I did enjoy my time as a teenager back then, and I can see why the younger generation today are having a slight nostalgic look towards it. After all, last year it was all about the 80's. I don't know how long I spent on YouTube looking through all the old adverts for the cartoons I used to watch. It brought back memories, and I guess this year, it's the decade after mine that's holding the flame.

Anyway, back to the fashion (I seem to rant on quite a bit). The most prominent and beautiful items I noticed at Kids Fashion Week, were the ranges from Catimini and Geox. These were absolutely splendid. You'd have to see the ranges for yourself of course. The boy's jackets were very trendy, and the bright girl's summer dresses were just to die for.

I'll go over some of the main highlights.

For the girls: Light summer dresses with either patterns or split two-tone. Funky looking t-shirts and shorts with 90's style graphics. We've seen a little tie-dye as well, not sure if this will catch on, but it was popular in the past.
For the boys: Light coloured summer shirts and t-shirts with graphics. One of these amazing ranges was a boxer shorts company called "Bawbags". Very bright and funky styles – I can see these catching on and some shops have already began to stock them.

For the Babies: Very cute and colourful one-piece suits, funky little t-shirts with a range of slogans, characters for patterns. Little denims and hats seems to be everywhere too.

Another few things worth a mentions were Kids Banz – A fantastic kids sunglasses company. Great for the holidays, and they come with stretchable head bands to keep them attached to your little one. Another was Dudeskin which had some other funky looking shorts and t-shirts from baby to toddlers, and MeeToo which had some great jackets and coats.
It's been a long one this year, but I hope the information above helps you dress your children nicely this year. See you in the autumn.
