The Main Theme Of Her Speech Should Be Her Love For The Groom.

A bride is, of course, the leading lady at a wedding. The groom may be her leading man but weddings, generally, are for and about brides. That’s why what she says is so important.

Her speech may be light-hearted and witty or deep and meaningful. Either way it should express her feelings on that special day. In fact it would be no harm for her to speak about the lead up to the wedding and how she felt excited and nervous at the same time.

She might mention the search for her gown that took in every store in town. She could mention the trauma of choosing the right flowers the best invitation cards. She could talk about the difficulty of choosing a date that suited everyone. In fact she could, in her speech, involved everyone in those frantic months of preparation.

She might speak too of her bridesmaids and what each one means individually to her. They are usually sisters or best friends and she could mention incidents shared with them and why she choose them to act as bridesmaids on the day. That will make them feel special.

She will usually want to express her gratitude to her parents for the way they reared her. She may mention how her dad drove her to swimming or basketball or collected her from discos. She could speak of her mother’s attempts to teach her to cook or the bedtime story she read to her every night when she was young.

It’s always nice to be gracious and a bride’s speech should thank anyone who has done anything special for her. She might say how she is so delighted that her elderly grandmother travelled to be with her or her old school teachers remembered her wedding day and sent her a special greeting.

Her new parents in law should also get a special mention. They may have invited her on holiday with them or shared the cost of the wedding. They may have always made her feel welcome in their home. Whatever their relationship she should mention how grateful she is to them for providing her with such a wonderful husband.

The main them of her speech should be her love for her groom. He is the one she has chosen above all others and she should say way. It might be because he is so generous and kind. It could be because he has such a special sense of humour. It could also be because of the interests they share. She should let him know how special he is to her and how much she loves him. Above all her speech should emphasise her happiness in having married the most wonderful man in the world.
