Things To Know About Vinyl Sheds Before You Buy

Vinyl Sheds are one of the most durable and long lasting storage options on the market today. However, there are a few things you need to know before you buy and install any type of storage building.

In a lot of cities, townships and neighborhoods there are restrictions as to what you can put up in your yard. If you have any questions about what is allowed it is up to you to contact the building department and find out if you can have an additional building in your yard. Sometimes you will need a permit to build a shed or garage from scratch but you don’t have to have one to install a shed kit. You will need to find out what, if any restrictions you might be under.

This also includes neighborhood associations. Some of these have covenants that you have to abide by and if you don’t check with them first you may be tearing your building down!

If you live in an area that has snow or high winds you need to call the building department in your city or town and find out what the allowable snow load or wind capacity needs to be on any building. All reputable companies that make vinyl or plastic sheds will list these or you can call and they can tell you what they are for each unit they make.

You will also need to make sure you have a level foundation ready when it is delivered. The foundation kit that you can purchase with the shed is the outside of the foundation that the walls will go on but you will need either some plywood or other material to put down as the floor and it all need s to be on level ground.

One thing is assured, you will love your vinyl shed as it is the most maintenance free shed on the market today. It has a warranty that cannot be matched and will make your life a lot easier and organized in the future. Good luck.
