To celebrate being an official candidate to host the 2015 Solheim Cup, the prestigious La Manga Club resort has announced a host of special offers and promotions.

The tournament venue will be announced later this year, and anyone taking a golf break at La Manga Club before March 31 will receive a free round of golf to be used on their next visit if the five-star Spanish resort is chosen to host the event – free rounds are transferable so could also make a great gift.

The advance buzz about the TaylorMade R11 driverfocused mostly on the white crown and black clubface. It's a look that will provide a "wow" factor for some golfers, but one that, according to the company, also serves a purpose.

The white color makes the 440cc clubhead appear slightly larger, TaylorMade says, and provides a greater contrast to the turf to make aiming easier - an advantage more pronounced in lower light conditions, according to the company.

In addition anyone booking a three-night, three-round golf break during February will receive an extra night and round of golf absolutely free of charge, meaning four nights in the luxurious Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe and four rounds of golf is available from just €125 per person per night.

Groups of eight or more ladies will also receive a free spa treatment per person and among the options they can choose from is the new Solheim Cup 2015 treatment, specifically designed to reinvigorate golfers after a round as it targets weary muscles and feet as well as revitalising the skin.

The R11 driver incorporates TaylorMade's Movable Weight Technology (to promote a desired bias or trajectory changes), plus its Flight Control Technology (to change loft and face angle). The R11 driver adds another tech, what TaylorMade calls its Adjustable Sole Plate.

Packages must be booked by March 31 and are based on two people sharing a twin or double room and includes breakfast, 50 per cent discount on golf club and buggy hire and complimentary access to Spa La Manga Club’s saunas, steam rooms, fitness centre and indoor pool.
