Throw A Successful Baby Shower

If you know someone who is having a baby, chances are you will either be asked to attend or host a baby shower. If you are hosting a baby shower, it is very important you read this. Having a successful baby shower depends on you and your ability to plan. Use this checklist so that you may give your mother to be the baby shower she dreamed of!

1.) Get invitations out no later than 2 weeks before the baby shower. You will need to get an address list from your expecting mother. Make sure she remembers the father's side for the invitation list! Invitations do not need to be expensive, but do make sure they are appropriate for a baby shower. You can make your own with various computer programs.


2.) Decorations are not a must, but they definitely add to the festivities. No need to go overboard, but some streamers and balloons go nicely.

3.) Be sure to have plenty of food for your guests. You do not need to supply a full course meal, but make sure you have plenty of appetizers so all your guests may enjoy the food. Again, no need to go overboard, but having 3-4 different options will suffice. Do not forget drinks, and serving utensils, such as paper plates, cups, spoons, etc. Keeping the baby shower theme is nice. Decorated paper plates and napkins add a special touch to the baby shower.

4.) Don't forget the baby shower cake. This is an important part of tradition. Check with your mother-to-be and see what kind of cake she prefers.

5.) Games. You should incorporate some kind of baby shower game into your party. This ensure your guests are entertained and don't feel like they just showed up with a gift. If you decide to do games, make sure you have prizes to give out. You can find nice prizes at a dollar store so as not to hurt your pocket book.
