Time Management Exercises

Time management exercises are a great way to get you into the habit and practice of healthy time management each and every day. That’s right, we did say practice. Just like any new skill that you learn, practice is needed to get better at it.


Time management exercises allow you to get the regularly practice you need for learning to make proper time management a part of your daily routine. Time management is a skill and just like the ways you can train your physical muscles or train your brain to learn something new, it’s important to train yourself on time management.

You can build your skills in time management by doing certain exercises that reinforce the principles behind proper time managing.

With this, you can form new habits that will greatly improve your quality of life. You will find yourself becoming more time-conscious, making healthier decisions about what to do with your time and being more productive in the time that you do have.

So what types of exercises are there to help you with your time management? Here are some examples:

• Learn to develop your willpower – It’s not enough just to say to use your willpower; you also have to learn ways to develop that willpower to help you stay on task and improve time management.
• Avoid procrastination- Procrastination is a real time killer. When you continue to put things off until later, you’re using unnecessary time and energy to think about the task but still never get it done. There are exercises you can learn to help you avoid procrastination.

• Learn to do something important immediately whether you feel like it or not.

• Learn to postpone something that you would prefer to do right away.

• Do something you don’t really want to do like washing the dishes or cleaning the toilet.

These are the types of time management exercises that will help you become disciplined in your daily routine. It will help you stick to a schedule or what you need to do, whether you want to or not and teach you to avoid procrastination.

These exercises can help you avoid wasted time spent doing the things you want to do or that you find fun and skipping the things that are really important to productivity.

Most people are completely amazed by how much time they actually spend wasted each day or doing things that aren’t really important. One exercise to help prove the point of this is to have you intentionally do something pointless like counting a bag of beans. This shows you really how much time you’ve spent doing something that accomplished nothing in the end.

You can then take the knowledge from these exercises and apply it to your everyday life. See the ways you can make changes to improve your productivity?

You will be able to see those things that are needless which you can cut from your daily routine to make more time for the important things that deliver results.
