Time Management Tips - Cut Out Interruptions
We should fully be aware of our surroundings for us to know and curb the source of interruption; especially so in our offices. Curbing or removing just doesn't apply to things around us, but also to the humans who may be present and may be a source of distraction. It is easy for a thing which is the distracting source to be removed from our surroundings. When it comes to removing human beings, it is not just removing at that instance, but making them understand; how inconvenience you are put to, with their distracting movements or sounds. The same does not apply to a home business where, the distractors are own family members, including the kids. Since you can never think of removing a family member, you have to think of a permanent fix to make the family member realize and prevent distracting the surroundings. Then, you must to take steps that anticipate different situations so your company runs efficiently. When employees are involved, you must realize that other people's time is also important; you would do well to ensure that your employees also make effective use of their time. The simple reality is that , poor preparation and strategy routinely result in interruptions The basic organization of your business should be set in a way that encourages efficient use of time. For example, any employees should have all the means by which they will complete their work. Assigning a task an employee is not prepared to do will only encourage inefficient usage of time as he scrambles for help or additional resources. He may even come to you for help. Structuring your business to run smoothly also means solving problems before they begin. You need to foresee any potential problems that might interrupt your work before they happen. If you do that, you will minimize the likelihood that an "unforeseen event" will interrupt you. The third point to remember is to keep your business focused. In effect, to achieve the ultimate aim of maximizing your organizations profitability, you must focus on those aspects of the business which matter the most for achievement of this goal, such as marketing, purchase of stores and product development, if yours is a large business house or on the various simple tasks in the case of a small scale business. After the crux thrust points are identified, and plans for handling them are put in place, it will become simple to focus on the key tasks with ease and minimal effort.
