Time For God By Joe Luna
The book is a cross between Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life and David Allen's Getting Things Done, in the sense that it's a Christian worldview with a detailed plan to get your life back on track – it is centered mostly around how a Christian can overcome the modern cultural conflicts that are stealing their time. For example, the book challenges today's instant gratification culture against the norms of Christian values then gives a specific process to wean the reader from any bad habits they've developed. As our busy lifestyles are on everyone’s mind, the book is aided by some real how-to application along with the scriptural basis for the action. The main focus is how everyday people, including you and I, must direct our days by any means necessary in order to put our eternal priorities first. The “by any means necessary” means, at times, a challenging difference from what we've become comfortable with. There is a fear in a book like this that it becomes a kind of too true challenge that's placed right in one's face. But in the end the reader is pleasantly surprised by the outcome. What’s particularly refreshing is that the book doesn’t shy away from teaching scripture as well as daily bread. Often these types of books cover the practical without digging deep. Time for God accomplishes both. Overall, Time for God is a page turner, and a great addition to your home library, covering ground that is not covered by most other Christian development works. If you love this genre, or you’re challenged by how you can best be bearing fruit in your life, this book offers direction and clarity. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com |
