Tips For Better Public Speaking
The first major tip to consider is to develop your voice to a lower pitch. This doesn’t mean to force your voice to lower pitches; it simply means to have a little more bass in your voice that shows off confidence in your speaking. Practicing your speech in front of family, friends, and neighbors would help greatly. When working on your voice, make sure to also work on speaking relatively slow. Slow your pace down in order to properly illustrate your words to the public. This will take some time, but it is crucial to sending a clear message. This also works hand in hand with enunciating your words. By speaking clearly, avoiding mumbling, and throwing appropriate weight behind question marks, and exclamation points, you’ll grip your audience to understand you a little better. The last key in regards to tips for better public speaking is to make eye contact with your audience. This one is a hard one, but if you can establish eye contact, you’ll generate a sense of compelling authority that most miss out on. This piece of the puzzle is not simple, so it’s important to rehearse your speech several times, even to the point of memorization, until it becomes second nature.
