Tips On Cleaning The Swimming Pool

The water in the swimming pool must be purified to keep it hygienic. Pool water may become aggressive and cause corrosion, or may become scaling and damage the swimming pool with mineral deposits. The occasional addition of fresh water or total water replacement is not sufficient to keep the water clean and clear of unwanted deposits and microscopic contaminants.

Dust and other dirt deposits are the main concerns when it comes to a residential swimming pool. A bad impression of the pool by the guests is also a prestige issue for the home owners.

Learning to keep the swimming pool clean isn't as complicated as it may seem. Some quick cleaning tips that can be implemented for pool cleaning are as follows:

- Lime powder or bleaching powder: Lime has citric acid in it which is a mild cleaning agent for minor stains. One may just need to sprinkle the lime powder to the pool. After a few minutes, the stained area can be washed thoroughly with fresh water. Use a brush, if need be.

- Shampoo: Shampoo can also be used to clean the pools. This would be a very simple process as one can do it with convenience after or before the swimming exercise. Choose a shampoo based on the toughness of stain. The harder the stain, the more concentrated you want your shampoo to be.

- Alkali: Typically this is done with caustic soda (NaOH), and results in the removal of all polar substances such as fats and oils.

- Heat treatment using vinegar: Vinegar, a mild form of acetic acid is one of the finest substances used for cheapest cleaning of the pools. Either vinegar or the pool must be heated to a mild temperature for best results. This method also depends on the size of the pool.

Apart from the above, other substances like alcohol, detergent powder etc can also be used to remove stains from pool. Many disinfectant lotions and fresheners are also available in the market for use with the pool care.
