Tips On Google Adwords Campaign For Beginners

Beginners, don't start any Adwords campaign until you learn more about Google Adwords. You may spend a lot of money without getting any result. However, one of the quickest and most effective ways to drive traffic to your website is running an Adwords campaign. Here are some tips on how to start your Adwords campaign.


1. Do Your Keyword Research
Come up with a list of targeted keyword phrases. You can do this with the free Google Keyword Tool. Try to find keywords with high demand but low competition. Popular keywords with high demand are usually more costly. It can be more cost effective to choose keyword phrases that are less popular but more targeted.

2. Organize Your Keywords Into Groups
Divide the relevant keywords into separate groups. Make your keywords more targeted by using the "broad match", "phrase match", "exact match" and "negative" functions.

3. Create An Ad For Each Group Of Keywords
For each group of keywords, create a targeted ad. Use a title that grabs attention, a benefit on the second line, a feature with call to acton on the third line, display url and destination url. For each ad groups, create at least two ads.

4. Create A Different Landing Page For Each Ad Group
Create a different landing page for each ad group to target different audience. Put your keywords on the title and body text of your landing page. If the searchers cannot find what they are looking for on your site, they will immediately exit.

5. Start Your Adwords Campaign
You don't have to bid for the top position if it's costly although ad on the top position tends to get more clicks. You can set different maximum cost per click for each keyword.

6. Turn Off Content Network And Search Partners.
If you want to advertise on content network and search partners, start a new Adwords campaign for each to make it easy to track. Visitors from Google Search are searching for something related to your keywords whilst visitors from content network and search partners may be just curious browsers.

7 Track And Monitor Your Adwords Campaign
Track your Adwords campaign with Google Analytics which gives you a lot of information about your visitors. Test your ads, landing pages, keywords and edit those that do not perform well to improve your click through rate. However, good click through rate is not enough. You need to have high conversion rate to make profits. Keep testing and monitor your Adwords Campaign.
