Tips On How To Reduce Stress In Your Life

Time is the modern man’s curse. In order to stay at the top of the food chain, you have to be competitive. You have to thrive in challenges, which would also inadvertently mean that you have to function pretty much like any robot. Being automated. So that means you have to act indifferently even in the face of crisis. You should be arbitrary when it comes to decision-making. You should be professional.

The only thing is that, man can only take enough punishment. You can only bottle up your emotions only too far. When you exceed your limit, you shatter.

You see, bottling emotions is one major cause for stress. And when stress sinks in, the human body’s capacity to fend of illnesses and diseases goes downhill. And a stressed man gets ill quickly. And when the body weakens physically, resolve also evaporates quickly. So how to reduce stress in your life?

The Aspect of “Fight or Flight” Response

Walter Cannon, a 1929 American Physiologist, was the first to describe the Fight-or-Flight response of the human body. In his research, this automated response is actually an animalistic survival instinct, an acute stress response that triggers when animals faces these fight-or-flight situations. Meant literally, the human body’s sympathetic nervous structure primes the body for control whenever there is risk of grievous harm. In effect, it releases the chemical Epinephrine to prime the body, exciting and quickening heart and lung activity, releasing nutrients for muscle activity, and constricting the blood vessels on other parts of the anatomy. That’s why, whenever anyone feels this response, there is sometimes difficulty in thinking straight, and sometimes certain places of the body gets numb or else don’t register pain and sensation well.

Prolong or repeated flight or fight response is severely deteriorating to the body because of its inhibition aspect to the body. Like for instance, one of the functions of Epinephrine is choking blood supply to the stomach part while bunching torso muscles in readiness for rigorous muscle activity.
