Tips To Avoid Losing Money While Trying To Make Money Online
The results for Googles’ Search Engine enquiries can sometimes be truly astonishing. ‘Make Money Online’ returns 176x10v, ‘Home Business’ returns 436x10v, and ‘Work From Home’ returns 2,740x10v. ‘God’ returns 377x10v (the small v after the 10 means six zeros). So Mammon does not have it all its own way. ‘Ok, big deal’ I hear you say. Well if you happened to be one of the people enquiring about the Earthly subjects mentioned above, it means there are a lot of other people doing exactly the same thing as you. Probably the reasons those terms are used in the vast majority of cases is the desire to make money away from the conventional workplace assuming that is, you are lucky enough to have job in the first place.
How on earth are all those folks making money online? Short answer is they don’t. Some look and dream. Some take action and lose money. Some try again and lose even more money. Some will break even and some will make a few dollars. Some even get to make a living online, in some sort of fashion. Taken from personal experience and experience of a few friends I offer a few tips as to how to avoid making costly mistakes which if made result in putting your hard earned cash in someone else’ pockets leaving you poorer and nothing to show for your efforts. For what it is worth here are the tips;
The number of things needed for online business, are not really different than a physical business, but the methods, tools and skills needed are specialised. Firstly realise that any online venture is a business. Skills need to be learned and then they can be applied repeatedly to your advantage. Investment will be needed in both time and financial commitment. Know your market. Who are you trying to reach? What are you trying to sell? Are the buyer and the product matched? If they are not there is little hope for a successful venture unless you are extraordinarily lucky.
Technical skills involving web site design, hosting, auto-responders, pay per click advertising campaigns, facilities to process, as a merchant, credit card payments and if you do not have a product to sell where would you get one – or a hundred of them? Is there such a thing as free advertising? That’s a lot to take in and where do I learn all this stuff? What should have big flashing warning lights on it is any offer placed in front of you to pay a load of money up front and then try and learn from the course or ‘secret’ system offered. If you do pay a lot of money up front remember, you are then chasing after that money in order to make a return on your investment. Some people have found that ‘Cast Iron Money Back Guarantee’ to be elastic in nature. Beware of paying out thousands of dollars before you know it’ll be worth it and if you have the technical competence to put the information into practice.
There are loads of free offers online and information which can help get you going to enable experience to be gained before you make a heavy financial commitment. In case you have read a lot about ‘Gurus’ being geniuses, they don’t usually do the technical stuff themselves or the ‘slog work’. They delegate it out to others. The cheapest places for this kind of work to be done, is in the Far East or in Eastern Europe. It is very unlikely that ‘the name at the top of the page’, does it all by him/her/self. You can often read about Gurus and sales marketers referring to prospective customers as ‘tyre kickers’ in a disparaging way. My advice is don’t just kick the tyre, shake the whole car! Check out the product on forums and get genuine reviews to equip yourself before parting with your money. The higher the cost of the product so the more research should be done.
Ok, so how do a lot of people make their start and get going without serious trauma to their esteem and finances? Answer; they copy someone else. Someone who actually makes money online and follows at a small initial financial investment the direct methods used. The methods should be closely followed and learned from. What is not widely talked about is that any online ventured needs maturing, or ‘tweaking’, that is altered as the first few results come in. This is done to stop money being wasted on unproductive keywords and targeted on those keywords which produce a good response.
As was said above, it’s a business which has to be learned in whatever field you choose to go in online. The wheel does not have to be reinvented. It’s easier to copy someone else’s success as a starting point. That is, of course you have an up close connection to the guy mentioned in the fourth search result above.
