As I've said earlier, Akoya pearls are relatively cheaper than Tahitian, Mikimoto and South Sea pearls. They are much more expensive than freshwater pearls though. So just do a mental price comparison before buying one.

3. Beware of fake Akoya pearls.

When buying pearls, always buy from a reputable seller. This way, you are assured that what you are buying is the real deal.
