Tips For Choosing Save The Date Cards

Save the date cards are something more people are using than ever. It is a great way to tell the world about your upcoming wedding so that everyone can start planning for it. After all, this is one of the most special days of your life and you want the right people to be there. Keeping that in mind, you may also want to choose these cards to help you to create a fantastic announcement for your wedding. There are a few things you can do to choose the right cards for your needs.

• These are often postcards rather than formal letters, which makes them inexpensive. However, you do want to invest in a card that is thicker than your average sheet of paper. If you send out something inexpensive and thin, chances are it will get lost.

• Choose save the date cards with a theme that you love. At this point, you may not have selected your wedding theme yet. However, you do not have to. Many people use these cards as a simple announcement and that often means that they can be anything you want them to be.

• Use photos. This is a fun way to get people to smile when they receive your card. It also helps your card stand out from the many others that your friends and family may receive. Have a photo session to create that special engagement photo for the two of you. Then, use that on your save the date cards.

• Make it your own. Use the wording and details that you want. You can choose from various colors and font or just keep the entire thing simple. Choose a formal pattern, a beach theme, or just a formal announcement.

• Be sure to include all the important information and let people know that you do not have all the details just yet. For example, these cards will communicate the date and usually the time of the wedding and the wedding reception. They should offer some information about where each will take place, too.

The save the date cards are important because they let your guests plan for your big event. Without these cards, your family may be unable to make arrangements soon enough to come to your event. However, when you send these out three or so months in advance, you know that your family will have the information they need to start planning to visit.
