Tips For Clean Towels
So - especially if you don’t wash in hot water - tip a bit of disinfectant into each load and when you’ve finished, cycle the washing machine with clean water to make sure bacteria and mouldy water are rinsed out. Bleach is good to kill bacteria and mould, and can be used on white towels. You may want to do this test: - take a clean towel, place it into a boiler with water and washing powder and boil it on the stove for several minutes. You might be surprised at the colour of the water when you’ve finished. To make towels fluffier, add two tablespoons of Epsom salts to your washing machine, along with your usual softener.
