Tips For Making Your Wedding Favors
If you are having a large wedding with more than 200 guests then assembling these favors can seem like a daunting task which can take you weeks to complete, but here are a few ideas to help take the monotony out of making up wedding favors and instead make the whole process fun and painless! 1. Ask for help: Sounds obvious doesn’t it? But many brides will always try to do everything themselves! Ask your mom, mom in law, chief bridesmaid, brother, sister and hubby to be to all lend a hand. They don’t all have to do it at once, if you have shopped for your favors early enough you can take your time putting them together and spread it out over a few days or a couple of weeks according to as and when they have time to help out. 2. Start an assembly line: Lay everything out in neat piles on a table or on the floor, whichever offers you the most space. With your army of helpers at hand delegate a task to each i.e. one to box/bag/wrap, one to add decorations, one to add the thank you tag. This way each favor should come out looking the same and you will get through them in an organized and speedy manner. 3. Have a favor party: This is a great idea for getting together with the girls and for getting your favors made at the same time. Set everything out as above and assign a person to each task. Provide some nibbles and drink and afterwards settle down to watch your favorite wedding movie! 4. DIY: If you are the fastidious type and don’t trust anyone else to complete the job to your liking then your only alternative is to do them yourself. I often find that with jobs like this is best to set aside plenty of time, plenty of space and some peace and quiet, free of distractions. Making up wedding favors, although tedious if you have a lot to do, can provide you with the ideal opportunity to relax, forget about the wedding planning and just focus on one thing for an afternoon. Set yourself up somewhere to work that is comfortable and well lit. If you don’t think you will complete them all in one stint then try to make them somewhere where you won’t need to pack everything away when you finish for day. Having to pack everything away may end up with you avoiding completing them until the last minute and could open the door for mistakes being made or a rush job resulting in poor presentation.
