Tips For Planning An Event
One important lesson to keep in mind is to budget but more than anything to budget realistically and overestimate just in case there any unplanned situations that crop up. For example imagine you have a set amount for food but then unexpectedly a number of unaccounted for people turn up, then it would be wrong to turn those people away and therefore you would have to consider catering for those people. Also you may have ideas about venues, where you would like to hold you occasion but the issue is that strangely a number of venues have some very strange timing available which may not suit. For example some venues will operate in slots therefore they may have an 11 to 4 slot and a 6 till 10 slot which may not be ideal for your function but to encroach on the extra hours may mean having to pay the extra cost for the other hours which in some cases can be very unreasonable. In all fairness your venue will probably be the largest cost you will have to deal with and may your wedding rings/bands. Consider all other aspects that come with planning a wedding like having a DJ, caterers, toastmasters and other aspects. Remember there is always a lot of pressure when dealing with event planning for bride, groom and the respective families. It takes a lot time and maybe some arguments to keep all parties happy but in the end you have to strive to enjoy the day you have been working hard towards too. Other things to watch out for are the timings of the day itself, for example assuming you have number of guests who travelled far you will need to maybe allow for a reasonable departure time for these people and have the meal scheduled a little earlier. Remember the day will consist of civil partnership, breakfasts, meal, DJs, speeches and so much more to consider.
