Tips On Making Your Own Wine

If you have been interesting in making your own wine for sometime now, here are some basic guide lines that will help you.

Whether your a wine lover, or just some one who wants to have a good time with a few friends, educate your self on the secrets and tools of making your own bottled wine that you'll be passing around with your friends for years to come!

Before we get started:

When it comes to making wine, planning and preparation are especially important. First off PLAN on what you are going to make and where your going to make it - such as a corner in your garage or basement. Sure you could use your kitchen but a staked out place specifically for your "Wine Making Area" is much nicer. Second PREPARE everything in advance. Do this and you wont get stuck realizing you have missed something.

Gathering what you will need:

Before you start crushing up grapes, or opening the first can of frozen concentrate. You must gather everything you will need. This includes corks, bottles, and corker. Also including siphon tubing, chemicals, and primary and secondary fermentation vessels such as a milk jug or a sanitized

Here are a few basic tips:

Tip number 1- Juices

If your going to run to the store and buy your fruit juices, make sure there are NO PRESERVATIVES. Preservatives are put in the product to kill off the yeast.

Tip number 2- Fermentation

The Mixture of your wine should be between 72 and 78 degrees F and should be kept there. Within 24 hours the fermentation process will start to occur. The mixture will start fizzling and will appear carbonated.

Tip number 3- PATIENCE!!!

To make a great bottle of wine this is not something that will take you a couple of days or even weeks, but months. Making GOOD wine just takes time. This may sound discouraging because you want it now, right? But with some time, patience, and the right tools you will be making a great bottle of your very own own wine!
