Trends nowadays allow you to be more personal and attuned to your own taste. In interior painting, colors now are bright and will add more personality to your room.
Whether you want to stay conservative on your choices of color and just want to tidy up the color of your walls, experiment on your color combinations. You can go minimalist and modern with high contrast colors of black and white using white semi-gloss paint mixed with leather furniture with metallic finishes, you can go further by removing the clutter and achieve that neat, clean look.
For a more bucolic effect, you can go floral with subtle colors on your walls using wall paper or stencilled paint decor using earth tones of brown, tan or beige accented with a brick red or olive green accents. You can match your furniture by fitting them with slip-ons to match your walls. Doilies, embroideries and crocheted tabletops and draperies should complete the look. You can go further shabby chic with second hand furniture, cabinets and drawers.
If you have wood for flooring, you can color your walls on the range or light browns or dark oranges and match your furniture with earth metallics like copper, bronze or even gold or use wicker furniture made of abaca or rattan. Furniture made of heavy wood like oak, mahogany, or narra accentuated with pillows with crisp linen would be a nice touch.
