Tips On Identifying Foods With Antioxidants

It is known from many years that antioxidants can help in weight loss and prevention of heart diseases and cancer. They protect the body from excess dangerous free radicals. But how do you pick the foods with good antioxidant content?
Here are a few foods promoting weight loss that are rich in antioxidants:

Berries
There are very few fruits that have as much antioxidant content as berries. This is why berries are famous for being good for weight loss. Berries are also rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber.

Broccoli
Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and cabbage help in preventing cancer, and are effective in weight loss. Broccoli is also rich in other useful nutrients like beta-carotene.

Tomatoes
Tomatoes are famous for warding off cancer. Tomatoes are rich in antioxidants like glutathione that enhances the immune system.

Red grapes
It is proved by many researches that red wine is effective against heart diseases. It keeps the heart healthy as it reduces platelet aggression and helps the blood vessels to stay flexible and open. Red wine is made from red grapes and inherits all the properties from them

Garlic.
This very famous spice is also a rich source of antioxidants, and is believed to work for weight control. It also has anti-fungal properties, and thus can help in treatment of yeast infections and asthma.

These were some foods rich in antioxidants. Some other antioxidant-rich foods are: green tea, spinach, carrots, soy, and whole grains. If you want to stay away from diseases, you should increase the intake of these foods.
