Most children don’t like studying since they think it is boring. As parents, you have to be more active and patient to lift their mood. The first thing you should do is to build good-quality communication. Therefore we want to help you with the following tips to make them enjoy their study time. Besides, these methods can build intimacy between your kids and you.

You can actually help them in the process of learning by being a teacher for them. You can make the teaching-learning activities like a discussion on topics they will have tomorrow. Of course you need to have some knowledge on the topic so that there will be a two-way communication. At least you have read their textbooks speaking on tomorrow’s material before you open the discussion.

You can start by telling them what you have read. Then you can give some real examples on those topics that they can understand the materials more easily. It is probably because they think that what is on textbooks is complicated that they don’t like reading those books. If they have understood what you are talking about, now it is time for you to give them some questions or ask them to give you another example on the materials. This method makes them think more actively.

While you are teaching about a person (for example a national hero or an inventor, like Thomas Alva Edison), you can give some facts on the person. With this method they will feel that they are studying a real person, not a character. Or, you can tell them some fun facts or jokes concerning the topics to avoid their boredom. Hence, you need to be more creative and active to increase more knowledge.

You can also ask them to play a game with you. The game is supposed to relate to the topics. You can mention a word in which they have to mention another word related to your word. Ask them to reply quickly, under 5 seconds. Then ask them to mention a word while you have to mention another one related to their word. The winner can ask the one who lose to sing or dance. It will make the atmosphere fun and comfortable.
