Tips To Face First Interview

On receiving first interview letter, all of us feel very happy but inside we feel nervous, jittery with some expectations. This could be your first job, but there can be many candidates for that vacancy. Therefore you have to ensure that you make your mark in the interview. Being a fresher, you do not have any experience to show, you only have qualifications and personality to prove your capability to get that fresher job.

Generally, from freshers more or less same questions are asked in the interviews. Freshers can easily clear the round of questions with little help and preparation. Some questions might be easy, others can be tricky but the main aim behind these questions is to bring out key information from you. Freshers have to develop mindset and skills to give answer with full confidence, which show their smart-mindedness and convincing skills. Here are some interview tips with constructive answers to help you get that fresher job.

The first and most common question asked is: 'Tell me about yourself'. This is a question which gives you a chance to represent yourself to ‘the best’ leaving a good impression on the interviewer. Some candidates make a mistake of giving loads of personal information with little focus on suitability for the job. Before going for an interview read the job description properly so that you can answer this question effectively. Tell them about your strengths and vision of your career. Talk about important lessons you have learnt as a student which can be helpful for you in this job, about the voluntary work you undertook as a student or any community you joined where you got the chance to display your leadership skills and took initiatives.

To check your strengths, the interviewer might ask you about your strengths. To answer this question you can give examples that you like taking new challenges and tackle them in a focused and organized manner. In fact this is one quality which is required in all types of jobs and will also leave a good impression on the interviewer. Also, tell them you have the ability to keep trying and finding unique solutions to problems. Remember all your answers should be supported with real examples.

Some interviewers ask about your weaknesses also. This is a bit tricky. You must tell about your ‘good’ weaknesses like you don’t leave work in middle. You can tell that you do not tolerate any excuses if deadlines are not finished on time, this will show that you are yourself committed to deliver productively.
Then, the interviewer might ask you why you should be given this job. This question is asked to evaluate how you are different from the rest of the candidates. Here you highlight your skills like ability to plan things in advance and execute long-term projects, ability to organize information and data, ability to research on issues which add to your work and ability to work well in a team. You can also tell them how well you can adjust to different situations and challenges. Such things can help you in getting jobs for freshers.

It is not that you can not ask any question from the interviewer. At the end when he has finished you can ask him about the job profile and the vision of the company. You can ask question related to detailed information about the organizational structure or the services and products offered by the company, the training and mentorship programs. Don’t ask question related to salary at this point, ask this only when you have been selected.
