If you want to make the most money then I strongly recommend making an ugly site instead of a pretty site. The fact is that ugly sites are better for adsense ads because the visitors are more likely to click off. When I say ugly sites I don’t mean make a site full of junk and only adsense ads, you still have to have good content but you don’t need to spend days working on the site layout and the design. The second thing you need to understand about making more money with Google adsense is that the ad placement matters more than you think. The best ad placement that I have found that works is the large rectangle in the middle of the screen right above the fold (bottom of the page before you start scrolling). The reason this ad works the best is most likely to because it is very noticeable on the site. If you want to get the highest click through rate then I highly recommend putting a large rectangle on every page that way you get the most eyeballs looking at it. Tips to get traffic Use small competition keywords – The reason you want to use small competition keywords is so you can rank on the top of the search engines for those keywords. It doesn’t get you a lot of traffic at first but once you have 30-50 articles all targeting smaller keywords you will really start to get lots of traffic. Write for article directories – Something that has always worked is when you submit articles to high traffic article directories. The nice thing is that you will get lots of traffic from the article directories and you will get some of the link juice from the directory as well.
