Tom Cruise's Wedding

On the 18th of November 2006 Mr Tom Cruise (48 years old and 1M70) and Miss Katie Holmes (32 years old and 1M75) got married in Italy. This was one of the most controversial marriages of this decade. Tom and Katie’s marriage was a Scientology ceremony, which took place in Odescalchi, Italy. Before Tom and Katie could have their Scientology marriage they first had to get married legally, since Scientology weddings are not recognised by the law. This first marriage took place at their Beverly Hills mansion in California; nobody knows exactly when. Rumours are that this wedding took place 2 weeks before the Scientology one. The witnesses at their official wedding were: Kelly Preston, Leah Remini, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. The wedding was animated by a spokesperson from the church of Scientology in Rome; his name was Fabrizio D’Agostino.

Tom and Katie were thinking about having a catholic wedding, which could not be performed since Tom has already been divorced twice; the first time to Mimi Rogers (1987 – 1990) and the second time to Nicole Kidman (1990 – 2001).
The couple got engaged in 2005; Tom proposed to Katie on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

The main vow at a Scientology wedding is to not going to sleep at night without having repaired any upset they may have had during the day. In traditional ceremonies brides are told that; Young men are free and may forget their promises, and grooms are reminded that; Girls need clothes and food and tender happiness and frills, a pan, a comb, and perhaps a cat.

The wedding had a total of 150 guests attending, which included: Martin and Kathy Holmes, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, Jenna Elfman, Leah Remini, Cameron Crowe, Brooke Shields, Jim Carrey, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Victoria Beckham and Steven Spielberg.

Tom and Katie have 1 child together; Suri Cruise, who was born in February 2006. Tom also has 2 adoptive children from his previous marriage with actress Nicole Kidman.
